Endress+Hauser strengthens its educational presence in the tri-border region

127 new trainees and students will begin their journeys at Endress+Hauser in 2026

International exchange programs open up further opportunities

At the start of the 2026/2027 school year, Endress+Hauser is welcoming 127 new apprentices and students to its locations in Germany (Freiburg, Maulburg, Weil am Rhein), France (Cernay) and Switzerland (Reinach). Across the Group, the company currently employs 750 young professionals, which corresponds to a training ratio of 4.3 percent.

Strengthening the region through education

For Endress+Hauser, this commitment is a sign of corporate responsibility. At the same time, the company is helping to develop the next generation of skilled professionals in the region. The programs combine practical workplace experience with a solid academic education, thereby offering attractive development opportunities to those starting their careers.

“For us, supporting young people is an investment in the future. As a family-owned business, we are creating opportunities for the skilled professionals of tomorrow while strengthening our company’s long-term viability,” says Helena Svensson, who has been Chief Human Resources Officer since April 2026. She is responsible for Group-wide human resources management, as well as for global dual education. “It is important to us to support young talent along their development journey, taking a comprehensive approach to help them grow professionally and personally,” adds Jens Kröger, Head of Global Dual Education.

Training with an international perspective

Although the training program is regionally based, young professionals benefit from a global corporate network. Exchange programs offer insights into different locations, working methods and cultures. For example, trainees from Switzerland recently gained experience at Endress+Hauser in Greenwood in the USA, while American trainees visited locations in the tri-border region.

As well as gaining practical experience, the participants were able to connect with people from around the world. “The exchange in Greenwood gave me interesting insights into the technical side of work and allowed me to broaden my horizons. Interacting with colleagues from other countries and experiencing what it’s like to be part of a globally connected company is particularly enriching,” said Dimitri Gschwind, a participant in the exchange program.

Networking and exchange platforms

In addition to international exchange programs, Endress+Hauser encourages cross-site networking among young people in the Group. A highlight in 2026 was the ‘Networking Young Generation’ event, which was held as part of the Global Forum in Basel. Over 520 apprentices, students and young professionals from all over the world came together to share experiences, participate in workshops and gain insights into various fields of expertise.

Jens Kröger believes that such events are an important part of training, encouraging professional and personal communication, opening new perspectives and strengthening the international network of young people. In this way, Endress+Hauser combines regional talent development with international networking to create attractive development opportunities for young talent.

Global initiatives support the training programe

The importance of dual education is also recognized internationally. In addition to the training network in the France–Switzerland–Germany border triangle, Endress+Hauser is expanding similar programs at its international sites. In China, for example, the first group of young people began their training in mechatronics at the Group’s campus in Suzhou in 2025. By 2027, 12 to 15 new apprentices are expected to start there each year. Similar programs have also been established at the Group’s locations in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, India, and Greenwood, USA.
